- 4 large peaches, pitted and sliced
- 6 cups water
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 6 sprigs sprigs fresh thyme
- Ice cubes cubes
Instructions
- In a large saucepan, combine the sliced peaches, water, and sugar. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat, then reduce the heat and simmer for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the peaches are very soft.
- Using a fine mesh sieve, strain the peach mixture into a large pitcher, pressing the fruit to extract as much liquid as possible. Discard the solids.
- Stir in the lemon juice and thyme sprigs. Allow the mixture to cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 1 hour to allow the flavors to meld.
- To serve, fill glasses with ice cubes and pour the lemonade over the top. Garnish with additional peach slices and thyme sprigs, if desired.
