- 1 cup glutinous rice
- 1 cup coconut milk
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 large ripe mango, sliced
- 1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup coconut cream (optional for drizzling)
Instructions
- Rinse the glutinous rice under cold water until water runs clear. Soak it in water for at least 3 hours or overnight.
- Drain the rice and steam it in a bamboo steamer or metal colander lined with cheesecloth for about 25 minutes until tender.
- Heat the coconut milk in a saucepan over low heat. Stir in the sugar and salt until dissolved.
- Once the rice is cooked, transfer it to a large bowl and immediately pour the coconut milk mixture over it. Stir to combine and let it sit for at least 15 minutes to allow the rice to absorb the coconut milk.
- Serve the sticky rice with sliced ripe mango on top. Drizzle with coconut cream if desired and sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds.
- Enjoy your tropical delight warm or at room temperature!
